Are there real alternatives to AdSense?

Ok, I have signed up for ClickBank and Chitika. The problem is they prefer the US (maybe UK, Canada) traffic only. My website is being advertised worldwide.

Are there affiliate programs that display ads worldwide? Is AdSense the only one?

I've just tried chitika for 2 days so i don't know about the earnings yet.
But it's also nice because it's allowed to place chitika ads on the same page as adsense.
Chitika only show the ads when the visitor from US or Canada comes to your site through search engine.
I would try it and see if using this will drop my adsense earning or not.

but i see that my ctr for 2 days is quite high compared to adsense.

for other systems, try to check it out this link http://www.dumblittleman.com/2006/10/40-ways-to-make-money-on-internet.html

There are a ton of them that might work for you. You prob just need to test each one out. There is a list in my sig.
Have you tried adbrite? Or Bidvertiser? Check it out.
    Good Luck

Thanks. My CTR on AdSence goes from 12% to 36%, you would think my earnings should be high, but the niche I am in is well populated and so the ads usually are not expensive.

Mostly my traffic comes from Europe, Asia, Eastern Europe and a little bit from North and South Americas. So I do not want something that will be sitting here, just taking space.

I got excited about ClikBank because they advertise globally, but their advertisers are mostly looking for people to purchase something or sign up for something. My site is there to help job seekers, they have no time signing up for something when they are looking for a job... I don't know maybe I am over-thinking it.

Thank you. I tried Bidvertiser, it's not nearly as good as AdSense. Adbrite is for the US traffic only.

I will check the link in your sig.

What about using CJ and put ads that pertain to jobs? Maybe some will sign up. If you normally make $25 a month on adsense and you can find something on CJ where you can make $25 a sale it might be worthwhile to look into it?

Yes, I believe the two routes you can go are adsense (or equivalent) or affiliate programs...

I may try that. I do have a CJ account, have not been using it though. Maybe I can get some good ads for careerbuilder.com or job.com. Thanks for the hint.

I don't think adbrite and bidvertiser's earnings together match the earnings of adsense.

There are good alternatives to AdSense. You can check my signature. One major problem as you mentioned is that they prefer US traffic. I think you will have more success with affiliate programs instead of alternatives of contextual ads like AdSense if you want to go more international. Try to aim affiliate programs not related to physical stuff, otherwise you will have the same problem. Softwares, eBooks are usually a good choice.

Adsense is still the best in PPC. But it's not the best way to earn.
