then say, if I add unique articles in different directories. Ie If I add 5 unique articles in Ezine, and provide a link to my site for each article would this better then submiting these 5 articles to different directories with a slightly lower page rank? I plan on using a ghostwriter but I don't want to spend too much so I would like to distribute the articles wisely. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Well yes because you are assured of a backlink in ezines.. But it won't hurt if you submit your articles to other article submission sites in order to increase the exposure of your site.. But since you are concerned with budget, concentrating on the sites with high PR is the wisest thing to do..
it is valuable to get more than 1 backlinks from ezinearticles.com and also it will increase your traffic, if there is proper interlinking,
If the goal is traffic submit all the articles to EA. For seo it would be wise to submit to different directories, because you gain links from unique IP's.
I will get one backlink each from unique article directories but will definitely submit more articles to same article directory to get links with varied anchor text.
Woah woah woah! Here's the deal, assuming the Article Directory is large and has multiple servers and Class C IPS, multiple backlinks from your Articles that live there will benefit you, however, if all the links are coming from the SAME site/ip address your link value will decrease. Some people will say this matters, some will say it doesn't. The more links into your site the better, but if they all come from the same source you get less credit per link, savvy? As for submitting Articles to multiple article directories, go for it. The more unique inbound links you have the better. Just remember that you need to submit UNIQUE CONTENT to each directory. Do NOT submit the same verbatim article to multiple directories. This would count as Duplicate Contact in Google's eyes and only the first Article google sees will get the credit. Hope this helps. ps Also remember to target specific keywords in your anchor text for your 2 links per article. I usually have one going to the homepage with the main keyword phrase for the site and the other link going to a 'deep link' for another specific keyword phrase I'm trying to capture on.
Aah I see, thank you very much. I remember reading somewhere that the backlink loses value the more times it is linked back from the same source but couldn't remember clearly so wanted to double check. Re: duplicate content, I was reading tips from Gauher Chaudrey not long ago and he said in one of his videos that he believes duplicate content penalities to be a myth as he has in the past created many websites linking out to articles and also adding a sample of the content on his site and has yet to be slapped by google. I also wonder if this is true as I have seen the same article reproduced many times by different webmasters/publicists. For example if I type in a specific phrase I see the same article appear on several different websites. and thanks everyone for your input.
if you keep submitting article to the same directories for the same site, then in some point of time you will start getting lower and lower credit for the submissions. however, getting backlinks is not the only purpose of submitting articles. traffic is another thing to consider, especially from article sites like EZA. if you submit the same article to other directories, then make sure it getss approved on EZA first otherwise ezine will reject the article for the article being published somewhere else (ubless they all have same author name)
