Are there legit data entry programs out there?

I have been looking for a legit data entry site for the past few months, not necessarily a "program" but even freelance work. Most of them seem like "get rich quick schemes" and I was wondering if anyone knew of any that did not require you to pay for a guide.

And also if anyone knows of any other freelance sites so I can get started.

No programs that I know of, but you may be able to get some work right here on this board (although you probably won't be paid much)

You can also try Elance, but you'll have to build your feedback first.

There are few but the best way to seek them out is through job boards.

Honestly there are several jobs which I almost consider data entry, such as forum posting. You have to have a brain on your shoulders to type with proper grammar and be unique, but overall it is a relatively simple process. The problem is is that it doesn't pay very well really. Another thing that I had some luck doing was writing articles. I still do it occassionally for a few people. If you are an English native you are already ahead of the curve.

If you want to do data entry, you should look into directory and article submission. It's effectively the same thing. I also wouldn't advise trying to find them through freelance bidding sites. You will always be undercut by outsourcers.

Thanks for the advice, I am already involved in forum posting but sometimes I find it boring (depending on the topic of the forum)
