I would like to know if there are any suggestions as to a keyword research tool that gives results that can be trusted. I ran a keyword search through Keyword Elite which uses free keyword tracker. I found a keyword that I wanted to target in that search that had a small amount of searches per month 1,600 but that is what I go after is 6 to 10 smaller competition rather than large competition keywords. Anyway, I ran a program called Web Ceo that also give search volumes and it came up with less than 10 per month. I ran this keyword through Google Keyword adwords tool and no results came up. Ran it through Google Keyword suggestion tool and 800 searches came up. Is there a suggestion about which keyword tool is the most reliable. I have heard that google blocks some results associated with keyword research. Don't know if that is true. I would very much appreciate any help that I could get in this area because without good search numbers you really have no basis. Thanks, Jim
I have webceo open right now, don't use it for keyword popularity analysis. Imo use google keywords tool exclusively. However make sure to use exact match and not broad match when inputting the keywords. Shooting for low target keywords is sometimes hit and miss due to their lower numbers, that's a risk you have to take. If you want some more help you can pm me the keyword and I could help you out a bit. That is, unless your my competitor! j/k.
Personally, I don't know which keyword tools are the best/accurate...they all feel the same so I just use Google keyword tool then I mine the competitions already researched keywords..how? 1.) use allintitle: "search operator in Google to cut down the results to who is actually going for a General Keyword I like (Example allintitle: "keyword will bring only results that contain exact keyword in title and meta) 2.) Go through the source to see what kind of keywords they are using and what they seem to favor 3.) Repeat the process with different keywords until you find the ones you like and seem to be the best. I think this process actually worksd pretty well. Obviously it doesn't replace a brain and you have to weed out the sites you don't thnk have strong organic SEO campaigns and really look into each individual site, but I like this method and it had worked for me for quite a while. Just a semi-out-the-box way of doing things. Hope it helped.
I agree with other people suggesting the Google Keyword tool. It's a extremely valuable resource to monitor a keyword search volume and advertiser competition. SeoAttitude.com provides several free tools for comprehensive keywords analysis. Ciao
