Are there any good message board modules for my Drupal website?

    Hi all,

    I want to create a message board for my Drupal website and all I've managed to do is a feeble attempt with the Drupal forum module which just creates a node from each post and does not have the feel of a proper message board. I don't want visitors to leave the page to a different environment I want them to be able to access the message board or forum from within Drupal. Have a look at how I've managed (or not) to integrate it into my home page: Kenyan Website

    I've used the "New Forum Topics" in the top right of the page to show the latest topics but I don't like how any of it looks. It's rubbish and even confusing.
