There are lots of honest guys doing SEO out there it's just you can't be a complete dummie when choosing a SEO... you have to know something about how SEOs work and how search engines work... otherwise there's a good chance you get into the hands of a skillful scammer who'll definitely take advantage of your SEO illiteracy and will feed on you for as long as possible...

It's pretty much like buying a pre-used car ... if you don't want the dealer to sell you sh#t you have to know a lot about cars and know how to talk to the dealer...

 

You also would want to do some research and make sure that the portfolios of clients they work on are legit. Often they will claim things that are achieved with sites they havent even worked on!
