    From a freelancer's point-of-view, finding work on sites like Elance or oDesk is probably a great fall-back position, but you should be looking for telecommute jobs via job boards. This is where serious business people look for talent.

    In my opinion, a great thing that works in getting freelancing projects is updating your profile. Make sure that you mention all the skills you have. Create detailed profiles on the freelancing websites.
