    while after 3 days - 500 pages

while after another 3 days - 200 pages

and now 250 pages ( they were above 500 for since last 2 days )

 Whats goin on G ?

I have read on one of the stories on Sphinn that Google is planning to shrink it's index, may be it is because of that !

Have you considered that it might just be the data center that your query is routed to? I'm not sure that all DC's are sync'd. You might try checking a few different DC's to see if that's all it might be.

Its probably as many directory pages are similar - same HTML with lack of unique content on each page.

I noticed many BQTM inner pages had PR n/a so your category structure which isnt very unique, and lack of content may be a problem.

ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Duplicate content is the most common cause of this problem. Good answer mikey.

Numbers you wrote are so low...
Many directories' pages are deindexed and finaly shows up to max 500.
I had over 20.000 on one of my dir - now it's about 450 and was below 300!

But this doesn't concern all sites.
Still have directory with 6.000 sites indexed and it's not changing so much.
Also have national directory with 60.000 indexed!

    Hello...

Ive seen this occurance 4 weeks ago and commented about
that as i see it on one off my better directories... where 1 day it has
1440 indexed then the next day its lower then back up again.

I myself think they have duel indexes but...
never know what they are up to :)

    thx

I have a small 7 page non directory site that provided me with a hell of a lot of traffic. Three weeks ago all pages except the index disappeared from g and the traffic stopped. Now the site has 6 pages indexed again but traffic is still nil.

Little g is trying to be like a dark mysterious stranger in the night... leaving you alone in the morning and with VD....
