There are so many forums. Its just a metter of time you go and register and after that you can download any movie clip? Isn't this illegal? If I am uploading some small movie clip, would that come under the fair use term?

Its illegal but there are alot of countries that has no copyrights..our action should be to first complaint adsense or any other company (if the forum administrator is using adsense)..and put a DMCA case against that forum ..and don't let them earning over your stuff!!.. apart from that you can't do anything!!

Thanks for the reply microbrain. How can such forums keep running for years. You can find stuff like nude clips of Hollywood actresses freely on these forums. Isn't there any body in US which watches this kind of activity?

It is up to the copyright owner to look out for infringements to their rights and bring the complaint against the accused.

The issue is that international enforcement of court rulings is very time consuming, difficult and expensive and in many cases will outweigh the economic cost of the material being out there.

microbrain - surprised you say that many countries have no copyright law, care to name a few? There are plenty that have weak laws or simply dont bother enforcing them because they have much greater issues to deal with such as poverty and murder but cant say I know of any country that has no copyright laws at all

You may be right in that all countries may have copyright laws but some, like China, don't really enforce copyright law. China and some pacific rim countries are a huge source for pirate software and bootleg DVDs.

Thanks, I guess this all depends on how much people make from copyright infringement. if they make big then only they have a real chance of getting sued.
