yeah...I have found that with backlinking as well as many other things in life, you do get exactly what you pay for. For instance, I found out with those profile links that many of them don't even show up unless you ping them and that in itself seems pretty much useless to me because I don't want to spend time pinging every little, single profile link.

for 10$ you will get spam and that is all

I totally agree, quality not quantity, besides, wouldn't you want to know exactly where your links are actually being placed!! I trialed a Company out for such services and low and behold, found links on a rather distasteful website and 99.9% were poor N/A or PR1 sites so pretty useless tbh. What is important for any young SEM SEO freelance is to understand the basics, the essentials, then build slowly and progressivelt which is ALWAYS more rewarding. Change with the times, Social networking over the past few years is a new seo linking trend on a massive scale now. Popularity, good foundations for any business is always worth much more in the long run. (Personal views and from experience I hasten to add)

Be also careful when it comes to outsourcing your backlinks, only use a reputable company, if not your site might be promoted with the help of spam comments etc and will get a bad reputation because of this. Plus, as stated already, most if not all of these super cheap links are useless, SY

None of that much use. Especially do not do it if the site is new, as this MoPZ cause you to google penalties.

So what if a competitor launched a backlink campaign in thousands to my new domain launched a few weeks ago? Will Google still penalise me........

Do you mean you did not get any rise in the SERPS from using Scrapebox for your links?
    Were they forum posts?

Scrapebox was never used but the mentioning on numerous occasions that new domains are penalised by Google for backlinks obtained too quickly, but how many is too many? If I spent a few days searching and adding links I bet I could gather around 500 backlinks from PR3 to PR9 sites quite easily and without purchasing but would Google penalise my domain?

Can you explain more about which type of the links are you talking about ? Such as where it comes from, value of it, .... There's no body can suggest you pricing if don't know more about them.

dont try buying off such links. they may not have the PR value, and also google will classify this as spamming.
