Are Text Link units worth it?

I have been running text ad units for about 2 weeks now on my site, in a prime location but they do not seem to be performing very well.

Has anyone had great success with them? What is the best way to implement them?

Have I got the right idea on my site, or am I not using them effectively?

you also need to get visitors for your website. the more visitors the more earnings you will have..also do promotions and link building, SEO, this will help a lot in your website.

 

link units attracts more clicks and pay less. keep it there , unless you have an alternating. something is better than nothing!

 

You need to change the placement and add more content to get better earning

 

I only use text ads as image ads do not work for me. I think you should try to change ad placements and you should try to use different text ad units like, 336*280 or 250*250 etc: see which one gives you the best CTR.

 

I think I get more multiple clicks in the Link Ads. I'm fairly sure it's because once I get someone to click it to go to the link page, they click one, might not find what they were looking for, hit 'back', and click another and another.

when you say its not performning well, you mean they are not getting clicks? or they are getting clicks but not much in revenue? also, how much traffic you are getting? you can play around with ad placement and different color combination to see which works. if text ads doesn;t work for you, then try image ads as some sites do well on image ads compared to text ads.

 

To me, including the text link unit is a way to maximize your earnings. Your visitors may find the link unit more interesting than other ads. So, don't lose your potential clickers.

They are just not getting clicks. All my other ads are performing very well! Just my link units are not getting clicks.

 

I just put in the link ads, not sure how well they will perform and dont know if the placement is correct, and they are on dealwithtech.com

 

I use a combination of text link , ad links and banners and moved them around a bit. I noticed the channels performance month by month correlated to the add changes adn stuck with the ones doing best.

For me they are worth it.
