I'm gonna get a new PC soon and i was curious if i should have a Solid State Drive in it. It's gonna be quite expensive for a 256MEG one, but will it load games a lot faster and give better performance?
I've heard both positive and negative comments about solid state drives. Things that you can be sure of is that they do load noticeably quicker, are shock resistant, use up less power, generate little heat, and make no sound. Overall they are pretty reliable. Problem is they are ridiculously overpriced. SSD's may have some advantages, but I just don't think it's worth the expensive cost. I would rather wait until more improvements are added and when it gets a cheaper price. Besides, 1TB hard drives are rather affordable nowadays.
hmm.. don think it would make much of a difference. all the LAN shops i've seen or heard of usually only use up to SATA.
