Are social bookmarking sites any good?

Are social bookmarking sites like furl and the rest, good for internet marketing?

Oh yes, they are great for getting traffic to your site!

 

"Good" in terms of what?

If you want to make money with SB, then forget about them.

If you want to get traffic with such sites, then you need to have something viral, something unique/special/interesting, that people would share and refer to others.

Also SB is quite useful for backlinks.

 

I find that what it gets me is short bursts of untargetted traffic.
Like bl4ckmaN^ said, it's great if you bookmark something that generates a bit of a buzz. That's REAL marketing!

Is hard to use banners on myspace, myspace will block your URL.
thats if your trying to do it the easy way.

you could always pay for advertisment

 

you should always SB your pages. great for building up accumulative traffic and authority if you do it the right way. and there are many different right ways to do it.

 

Bookmarking your site on social bookmarking sites is pretty much worthless when it comes to getting traffic directly from them - as the the traffic is very untargeted. They are great for backlinks though.

 

There are many Social Bookmarking sites which allow dofollow link... these sites not only send you traffic but back links also that helps a lot in terms of SEO.

 

Social bookmarking sites are still good for building backlinks and improving your ranking in the SERPs. However, compared with the past, it is not as effective. One thing you have to take note is to alternate your description and anchor text when submitting to avoid being penalized by the search engines.

 

Stumbleupon gives an unlimited traffic. But you will not have any sales from it.

 

Yes Very good indeed, excellent for traffic.

 

Anything you use sensibly is good for marketing over internet.

 

I never had much success with them.

I get traffic but it only last for that day that I update. So if you keep updating daily you could get some good traffic, but then again just cause its traffic doesn't mean its quality traffic, and thats what we are all really after.

So in my opinion they are only good for back links, and if you have something that is "real" news worthy and is happening as week speak.
