Hi, I was just wondering if sitemaps are recommended for blogs as well as normal websites? If so is there any kind of special plugins to use for a wordpress blog? Or can you just use a free sitemap generator website to make one? Thanks for any help
I like to use the "Google XML Sitemaps" plugin for wordpress. You can find it here http://www.arnebrachhold.de/redir/sitemap-home/
you can if you want to but i dont see any need for this. blogs already have pretty good navigation and search engine robots can crawl through the entire site easily anyways.
Depending on your blog platform you may be able to find a suitable sitemaps plugin. Otherwise normal sitemappers will also work
ya its needed for blogs too......if you want to c inc in traffic from search engines like google, yahoo etc.
For wordpress you can use plugins to create sitemap ...For blogger use atom.xml as sitemap ..Anyways as far as blogs are concerned , sitemaps are less important (in my experience)
Well, blogs DO need sitemaps, because we keep on adding posts on them, and sitemap'll be useful for both visitors and search engines.
If I'm not wrong, then this is your SITEMAP : http://www.yourpcsoftware.com/sitemap.xml So to add this to Google, follow instructions given here: http://bloggerstop.net/2008/11/blogger-help-how-to-add-sitemap-to.html
sitemaps are definitely helpful for all sites, otherwise it wouldn't be in the google webmaster tools
I think if you set up the Archives page properly, it can serve as your sitemap. But using the Google Sitemap generator posted above is definitely useful. I use it for all of my blogs.
