This is something heating in my head for a while. I have worked hard to get my site in 1-4 position in Google. Keyword is very competitive: About 73,200,000 results and according to Google External Keyword Tool it has an average of 201,000 local (United States). I’m getting an average of 375 unique visitors per day, or 15 unique visitors per hour, which I believe it is not enough for the 201,000 searches according to Google and my position. One of the things I’m thinking is that when visitors click my site on Google (or other SE), there is too much time to get my site and the visitor hit back the browser before he gets actually my homepage loaded in their browser. This is a theory, based in the fact that sometimes I see some erratic responses from the server. I would appreciate if someone with more experience can elaborate on this theory or give me possible alternatives. I can’t find online a tool for this, either I’m not able to know how many clicks my site gets on SERPS versus how many hits my site gets on server. Could be this an alert to look for another hosting? Can a hosting provider limit the number of visitors to a website? I appreciate the comments about this. Thank you
Google Webmaster Tools and you'll get all your answers. Without knowing the keyword and site, I couldn't really offer any more advice.
Thank you for your answer. I will check the GWT. Keyword: promotional products Site: www[.]actionprintinginc[.]com
Your traffic is probably fine as the keyword gets only 27,100 local searches per month. You need to select [Exact] rather than Broad. However, any speed or crawl issues will be highlighted in Google Webmaster Tools. Good luck!
