Are schools, colleges and work places tightening there security against proxies?

Well, i ve noticed at both my college and my friends college that the IT Technicians have updated there blocking/filtering system for their network.
Now pretty much nothing works on the internet, i have noticed that its not just them updating the original filtering system put in place but that they have changed the whole interface of the school and college. I was wondering if this was happening in a few places or if it was just my college and my friends.

I tried today, a brand new proxy site i found, and a couple that i am currently advertising and none of them worked. I was shocked to realize this, as usually you would find at least one out of about twenty i used to work.

I am also wondering if the new proxy script that is coming out soon will stop this or not.

    Will.

You have to buy it from GoDaddy I think... Costs like $20 a year.

    Download putty and sockscap,

make a proxy tunnel to a certain server from localhost in putty.
then add your browser to sockscap and set the proxy in sockscap to localhost.
Start browser in sockscap and have fun :)

At my school it seems not to matter if you use a proxy or not since they (the school) know who you are and what your doing anyways.
