reciprocal linking is where 2 sites link to each other. this is frowned upon by the search engines. a one-way backlink is the best.

When somebody says a backlink they typically mean a one way link leading back to their website from one they don't own.

there are several kinds of backlinks. for example: one way, 2 way (or reciprocal links), or even 3 way. all of them are backlinks. one way is a site linking to yours. 2 way or recip links are site A links to site B and site B links back to site A. 3 way is A links to B, B links to C, and then C links to A. best backlinks are one way links

No. In reciprocal linking, two sites have both links pointing to each other. In short, site A have link pointing to site B and site B have also link pointing to site A. While in backlink, your site only gains advantage. In short, site A have link pointing to site B but site B has not. It is also called one-way link.

back link means a website pointing a link to your website.

    you should target for

one way back link - you will get link juice without giving any thing

but in 2 way back linking means ( reciprocal linking )

you are getting a link pointing to your website but for that you need to give a link back to the link partner's URL.

Reciprocal link is a kind of backlink link.
    For example
there are 2 sites: site A and site B

If site A has a backlink to site B and site B also have backlink to site A than links are reciprocal.

    whereas

backlink is just a link pointing back to your site/blog.

because a link swap can be arranged by the webmasters, where a one-way link could be simply because somebody likes you and decide to link to you. this of course gives you more weight as it happened "naturally".

One Way Link from related topic to your site which have High pagerank (PR 4 ++) is the best quality backlink. But reciprocal or 2 way link from site with similar topic with your site is good too.

Well, it looks like you have your answer. A reciprocal link is only useful if your are linking to a similar or relevant site. The only advantage is if your link partner has higher Page Rank, if not don't bother.

reciprocal linking is more of a link exchange. You ask some one to link to your site and you do the same for them. Backs links are just one way links.
