so if i've bought an adsense site which is essentially a bunch of articles from ezinearticles.com, is it possible to make money with adsense on this content?

yes it's possible, depending on what the articles are about.

Ads are triggered by KW in your content. It may be that the ads you get don't pay as high as other per click.

Other obstacles would be getting traffic and then converting it.

but would google (or other search engines) penalize me for having non-unique content?

If you purchased them, chances are someone else did as well (Meaning more than just you intends to start an article website perhaps?). You will get striken for Duplicate content unless you rewrite most of it using differet wording etc.

Congratulations. You are the proud owner of a site that is identical in look, design, and content to a billion other sites out there. Good luck trying to find your own site in the SERPs!

thank goodness it only cost me all of $2.50

so even if it got me a couple clicks it would pay for itself...

Unless those clicks are coming from you, I wouldn't get my hopes up. :) Didn't you ask yourself why a whole site would only cost you $2.50??? It's because they sell these things in bulk. 1000s a day. Maybe 10s of 1000s. And they all fill up the SERPs on page 5,000,000.

Actually the site didn't cost me $2.50, I actually got 147 site for $250 :p

Yeah, I know it's pretty well useless, but I'm hoping it will give me researchable material for articles I write myself. Not plagiarism, just ideas.

Did the MFA sites come with a congratulatory remark along the lines of:

Congratulations! You're the 10,000th person that actually purchased the same identical MFA sites in hopes of generating adsense revenue. Good luck, SUCKER!

"147 site for $250" - I guess you didn't see any red flags go up.

Here's a quote I always live by: "You get out the game what you put into it." Meaning: If you take shortcuts and do sneaky underhanded tactics, you won't get anywhere. Put in the blood, sweat, and tears and slowly continue to grow you will reap the rewards if you stick with it. Apply this to anything you set out to do.

You can take it for what it's worth. :)

    Good luck!

A cheap hosting account would work with unlimited addon domains would it not? It's not like each of them will be as good as the origional site thats making the real money..so very little traffic will be directed there ;).

    247 sites...All in the same genre?...Wow

Yeah, it'd be pretty hard to get quality traffic to those sites. As for hosting costs, thats easy. doteasy.com offers unlimited space and bandwidth for like 10 bucks a month or something like that.

MFA sites packaged up like that kinda suck and recent experiments have shown that they have been known to cause people to go postal and take out as much as a whole floor of an apartment building with a shotgun...all because of landing on a MFA site...next surfer to lose it may be the guy next door to you, it may be your mother....ya never know...be carefull with those sites.

but don't you all find it somewhat ironic that the content on these sites is scraped from article directories, and was therefore written by people like us in the first place to promote our site???

And they are being whored all over the net for like 10 bucks or less?

Somebody loves you with that purchase!

Heck, you could become a member of my site and get more than 147 sites for only $9.99!!!

    Sorry, it was a typo
    I meant I got 147 for $2.50

no way I would have spent $250 (I may be inexperienced, but not that dumb!!!)

    Sub-domain each one.

Despite what people have said and may say, there is value in those sites.
New visitors looking for specific information have no idea about what the site's parentage and that it is a MFA site.

So what the heck, little cheap promotion, you may make a few cents a day on each.
