I have blog and I am an adsense publisher. I want to display pop up ads from other network. Is it against Google TOS ? Thanks.
I'm sure this is covered in this Forums guide to AdSense. I hope pop ups are against Google's TOS - I detest them. Is anyone stupid enough to click them?
Apart from the prohibited matter, I would recommend you avoid using pop-up in any kinds. - It could help driven visitor away from your website. Most of pop-up are annoying to visitors. - Even pop-up has no negative side effect to website SEO but it could cause your page for being devalued in "Quality Score" if you are using Adwords to drive traffics to your website.
Here it is, --------------------------------- Ad Placement Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of placements and ad formats. However, AdSense code may not be placed in inappropriate places such as pop-ups, emails or software. Publishers must also adhere to the policies for each product used. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182
Why do people install pop ups blocker? Simply because they are very annoying. Do not do things which annoys you... as they would be equally annoying to others as well! Regards, RightMan
They are annoying but I love getting discounts from them. I check to see if I'll get a price break on every product that I am going to buy. It never hurts to get a better price!
You never see them because adsense never allows them! Btw... OP was inquiring about using advt from other network in pop-ups and not adsense itself and whether adsense would object doing so. Regards, RightMan
Hhaha... yeah... in the end who paying the highest win. But the other problem is.... Will the payout issued. Google is already a big company and it's very reliable to issue the payout. I don't know other advertiser though. CMIIW
The only pop up I use is to tell the user something when they are trying to navigate away from my site. It is not annoying because it is not a separate window and doesn't force the user to do anything. But it seems to be effective. Quite a few people click on it.
