Are people running out of ideas?

Do you think that nowadays, people are running out of ideas for movies and shows because all the good ones were used up/taken away in the past? I guess that's why there are many parodies.
A good example of mine would be the Pokemon anime; when I watched it in the past, it was funny and great, but nowadays, there seems to be barely any plotline with the new episodes, especially the Sinnoh/Diamond and Pearl ones.

I guess i agree with you. It seems that a lot of movies or stories have conceptualized based on the past... isn't it.?

I also agree. Though I watch more movies now than in the past due to higher availability so the percentage of actually good movies might not have changed but just my perception.

It seems recently there are a ton of remakes, or sequels/prequels to movies made in the past. Rarely does a studio release a movie that is totally unique :(

Try watching a few European films. They make a change to Hollywood which can be rather formulaic at times.
