Are people just lazy or do they really not have a clue?

over the last few months I have steadily been developing websites and traffic has increased to all of my websites using the methods that are really no secret at all.

In fact you could find probably ten or twenty ebooks showing you how to do the same thing.

But I wonder why people dont do it?

I mean I had a domain name that I was going to let go cheap a few weeks ago and no one wanted it, Then I developed a wordpress theme for it and put some custom content on the site and

I decided to apply my method to developing the website, it is now getting steady traffic and it is a young domain name.

In a few more weeks the site will be ranked and I will start getting even more traffic and then I can start making a few bucks here and there.

I do that with every website that I have, it takes a little work and a few min a day to do this, it is not anything special, so I have to wonder again.

Are people just lazy or is because there is so much info out there they dont know who to trust, because there are so many people out there saying this and that and half of them are full of it and will say anything just to sell a cheap ebook or some other thing that will not help the poor guy or girl that buys it.

So to make a long story shorter, in a few more weeks this website will be worth a lot more than just the few bucks that I would have made if I had just turned the domain name over.

In just one of my other websites, I had a twenty thousand percent increase in traffic on GA

that google Analytics, for those who may wonder.

some get better traffic than others but all of them get some traffic which is better than many people that claim to have figured it all out.

or others that say buy this thousand dollar course and get lots of traffic without doing anything, and you know deep down inside that you dont get something for
nothing, you may want to get something for nothing but it really will not happen.

I just wonder sometimes because this is not that hard, as the saying goes it is not rocket science but yet so few actually put any effort into building a website.

 

People are lazy. I think most people see the internet as a way to "get rich quick" and don't have the motivation to put in some hard work. They get discouraged when they can't quit their day job after a week.

 

I agree with CasualNerd. A lot of people are looking for the easy way to riches. Those of us who actually make money off the web know that doesn't exist.

 

It does seem to be that way, I am surprised that so few people actually are willing to take a little time to do something so simple yet effective.

Yes I know, people are lazy, even to search, and just sign up and ask a "how do I..." question right away. If anyone is a bit less lazy and do some digging, they will find tons of valuable information here in the forum, way more than enough to get them started.

 

Some ppl are lazy and who are not lazy they are successful business man. Therefore there are many people who do not actually know where to start and how to do.

No but seriously, wasn't looking for anything more than a link or two for some good resources. I can start reading everythig I see, but that doesn't say it'll be correct. A good "hey you can check out this link here.....I found it to be very informative" is all I wanted.

 

I too agree that people are lazy they just need all ready made things & don't want to do any type of work by self.

Most people who attempt to make money online are lazy, have overblown expectations, and give up easily. It's good news because it means less competition

 

Yes, it seems that there are many that have watched too many TV commercials promising great riches in 30 days.
Then after 30 days they wonder why they couldn't make any money in the weight watchers field!
I knew it would take me about 2 years to get anywhere in such a competitive niche as video games. And after 1.5 years it looks like it is going to be close to that. Some has went faster than I thought...........some not so fast.

So to think you can quickly make the grade on "diets", "money", "Viagra" or some such thing in an honest way will certainly cause you to despair after you finally figure out this is going to be much tougher than you first thought. 30 days has just turned into 600 days or more...

But the thing is.....after those 2 years or so of hard work, you are greatly rewarded.

A large niche isn't a quick race but a marathon.

 

IMO, 80% due to the laziness and patiences of people and 20% due to other reasons.

People want to believe that they can get rich quick on the internet. They read all the lazy beach bum marketing methods and believe the hype. Unfortunately, the poor economy has made people desperate for something, ANYTHING that will "work" and that creates a scammers paradise.

Like the OP said, its really not rocket science. Just build a site and put some effort into it and you'll be rewarded for your hard work. It's quite simple, actually.

 

People just think in the short term. As in "Will this get me money today? No? Never mind then...forget about it"

Long term websites that gradually build traffic are usually the best money makers.

Hello all, I don't mean to sound like one of the lazy people but I can assure I am not. I just honestly don't know the first place to look. I'm a full time student and I've just started my summer. I feel this is the best time to start my website so if any of you could direct me to a site or an ebook that you've used to be successful in the past it would be much appreciated.

Agree. Most of the people are lazy. That's why only small group of people who actually succeed online.
