    Outgoing links are valuable if for example the links are going to an authority site, and if it looks natural from an authority site about the subject, it can only help your site

    Ok, let's say I am JimBob's plumbing. Brand new company, brand new website, few customers or visitors, just trying to take off. Acme plumbing is the largest nationwide plumbing company and their website is PR6. Would it benefit me to hide a link to Acme plumbing on my website? Obviously, it would never be a good idea for me to link to the competition's website on my homepage in a way where people could see it and click on it. But if it helps my website do better in local search, then I could do much better overall. Understand?
