I have no idea as of yet. But Considering that all my sites are in English. I would highly doubt co if my ads will be in any other language. Especially considering the traffic I get from foriegn countries other than US. It appears that many foreign will convert to english for many of my websites. Many can consider it wrong. But many will convert to english one way or another. Why many ask. Some will say its discriminatiing. Its not. Minimally many countries learn to speak, read and do business whether its in English or American English. No matter how many will disagree with me. For first world countries the secondary language to learn outside of the Lords Engilsh or American Language is any latin based form languages. Other than French, Spanish or Italian. Many will not do business outside the English/American language or the Latin based Languages because they are not a universal language no matter the population. Its how universal the language is. India is a large popular state language but not a universal languge. So more or less I would not put a foreign language ad on my site considering the traffic et cetera and the language cpnversion. No matter what people think is discrimanting. It isnt when thinkin a universal .com site that is mainly a english/latin base language site. There is always babel fish if one needs to convert.
First of all, answering the original poster: NO THEY ARE NOT REVIEWING ANY FOREIGN ADS (IN PORTUGUESE, AT LEAST, I CAN DEFINITELY SAY IT'S BEEN ABANDONED FOR ALMOST A YEAR). I am removing all my sites from the coop, first because it DOES penalize you if they find out and secondly DPoint has not replied any of my requests to review ads. So it's just sitting there giving oceanfinance and moneyexpert millions of dollars while my ads are pending review. (End rant.) About language: There is a shortsighted truth to what you just said. Say 99% of italians do speak english. But if you try, they'll pretend they never heard you, because it seems they plain hate having to speak in english, much less buy anything from an english-only site. Same with french. All of them speak or understand english. Now go try and make some french friends in english and let me know...doesn't work. It's not discrimination, as you said, it's about culture and linguistics. Contrary to modern american belief, people won't give up on their language so easily. I've been told the same of the chinese. And here in brazil to be called a gringo immediately cuts your business chances in half. It's not about UNDERSTANDING, READING AND WRITING english, because as you said practically everyone does it today. It's about winnign the hearts and the wallets, and you can only do that by speaking natively. As you can see from the arab countries, they do speak english to be able to communicate with americans and anglos, but they continue their lives in arab. Same happens almost everywhere. And english-only sites will continue to be english-only businesses. If you doubt it, then ask google why they spent billions to have their stuff in 100+ languages and locales.
Buying and selling advertisements in Portuguese is very complicated because most people just don't want to take the change of investing money on such sites. I have a Portuguese blog that receives well over 3k visitors per day and have been looking for people do advertise on my site but with very little success. In my opinion people interested in advertising on non-English sites should maybe start looking for other alternatives to purchase advertisements.
