No follow links would just be ignored by the indexers and they won't crawl in other pages on the web.
Any link that can bring a person to a web page is definitely useful. No follow links may still bring you traffic, they are just thought not be helpful with your page rank.
depends on what you are going to do with site. For example i am taking care about getting PR for some sites since the main $ from there will come from selling links which will be placed forever in articles. Anyway, any link is good, and as someone said, each good project have to have mix of no follow and do follow links + google algorythmics changing fast, so you will never know what will be actual in 6 months
No follow links are, I THINK, useful, for the following reason: Lots of people say that we should have an organic, natural looking backlink profile... Now, it would NOT be natural to have JUST have do follow links So, I think it helps to have SOME no follow links, to be natural
Nofollow not so good ad dofollow. Google doesn't index them, bud another SE do. Also, if you put any lonk in good place, someone can click it and come to your site.
It's true that No follow links will not pass any link jiuce. But a right mix of do follow and no follow links make your link building campaign looks natural to the search engines.
They are not useless, even for SEO purposes they can be usefull. If the niche is very low competitive, ofcourse a site with more no-follow links will rank higher than a site with no links at all.
Build traffic from forum sites.. thru nofollow link or otherwise. Those are links,, the more links you have.. the better for your website..
There is a rumor over the internet that nofollow backlinks are useless. I have over 4 years experience in SEO and i must say that in the end, for a website, a VOTE is a VOTE. Trust me, they offer authority too.
nofollow links work just as well for me. Sure they dont pass pagerank but that doesnt matter when just trying to rank in the SERP's
In my opinion nofollow backlinks have some value for bing or yahoo search engines, but for google - no. These links don't increase your positions in SERP, but you can try to collect some nofollow backlinks and watch if your positions increase, if not. I think NOINDEX is the same as nofollow, but it works only with yahoo or bing.
maybe for PR link juice nofollow links don't count but i think nofollow links are still considered as back links.
Currently I am testing a wordpress plugin that can change article tag from do follow to nofollow AFTER a period of time passed (eg: 60 days). The plugin name is [de77] No Follower. This plugin can set tag to no follow after a period of days, ie: 10 days, 30 days, 75 days or 90 days etc. I am just wondering if someone know if there is such plugin that has same capabilities but based on IP (no on date passed) so we can set no follow if the IP is IP's from Google search engine. Anyone know about this?
Why not? they might not transfer link juice, but they certainly can deliver traffic and help in branding.
It will make your link building campaign look natural so yes you need them too. Helps in building diversity
