Are new Registrations on "Hold"?

Hello,

I had someone i know on another site contact me saying they registered on DP about a week or so ago, and they are getting a message about their account is pending moderation or something to that effect.

They did get an activation Email, and clicked the link but are now awaiting moderation.

Is this normal now and they just need to wait and keep checking back, or is it possibly an account creation error?

I don't remember this back when i registered, but then again i don't recall what i done last week.

I just registered myself yesterday and I was not into any on-hold list, but needing to click on the activation email

Maybe your friends are "suspicious" and needing to be moderated.

 

From what I heard, it will be under moderation under these circumstances:

1. same ip (most likely to firewall of ISP or from an ip of an existing DP member's)
2. something suspicious with past troublesome username
3. or less and last case scenerio, slow database update of activations
