I have been fiddling around with the tags and titles after reading a few threads on these forums. Now I am concerned that I have gone too far and shot myself in the balls...can anyone please take a peek at my home page and the forum index page, and let me know if i am OK or if I need to change the tags and titles... also, is it possible to add meta tags and titles to flash pages*** http://www.weedguru.com and the forum index is http://www.weedguru.com/forum/index.php cheers
yep you have shot yourself in the foot..... see if it ranks and then make one change at a time... old SEO knowledge is dangerous
I can't see the danger in old SEO knowledge, why? instead of danger this will help you to avoid you from minor and major mistakes. If you know the basic for sure you know the dos and don'ts.. and this will be your guidelines in SEO. And weedguru about your site.. maybe you can change the keywords you used as your title. Did you used some keywords tool for your site? Maybe you can try keyword tracker or keyword discovery. And I think 420 forum is not related with your site anymore. That is just my opinion
Cheers for joining in and offering advice, Cassandra. 420 forum is completely related to the site though...The forums, which are people by marijuana enthusiasts, are the main hub of the site. And 420 is a common marijuana term. I will check out these keyword trackers you suggested. cheers again for peeking. dan
You can add meta tags and title tags to the html page in which you have the flash pages embedded into, but it's better if you avoid flash to obtain the best seo results.
For what its worth, yes I do believe you've gone way overboard on your keywords; where google is concerned of the three items at the head of your page, your title is most important, then your description but your keywords, well, they don't even get a look in with google if you believe the SEO hotties out there. The suggestion of checking out keywords that get a sufficient amount of traffic for your chosen niche is a wise one. It seems very much as if your page is optimized initially for the term "weedguru" which unless a codeword for a secret society of weed forum commentators ain't gonna get you much traffic. In fact I just checked on wordtracker, the premium keyword reearch tool and one that doesn't lie!(not a plug but a fact!) and it reveals 2 searches for the term "weedguru" worldwide in the last 24 hours. Not Great I'm sure you'll agree, so if you want traffic get optimized for the right keywords! Good luck !
I have changed a few of the front end pages. Cutting down the keywords, and choosing the key words, associated with marijuana, which are most commonly searched for. My other question is regarding the H1 tags...will adding them into every one of my front end pages improve my SEO*** And cheers danandmel, your analysis is appreciated.
