I have a forum and added Google ads about two weeks ago. About two or three days after putting them up, I got complaints from some members saying that it was taking them close to five minutes just to post a reply in a thread. It doesn't happen all the time though, sometimes the pages load just fine for them. Can this have anything to do with the ads, or is it with their connection? It seems like more than just a coincidence, yet the ads don't cause any problems for me on my end.
Some more info that might help: I placed the ads in the footer. Also, I use IE, but some of the members who are complaining are using Opera or Firefox, don't know if that would have anything to do with it.
Did you make any other changes to the code/forum while adding the ads? Google's servers are pretty fast (it's to their benefit), but maybe some of your users have some sort af ad-blockers that are slowing things down?
I didn't make any changes, other than adding some code immediately before it so it would be centered: <style type="text/css"> <!-- .centeralign {text-align:center} --> </style> <div class="centeralign"> You don't think that is what is causing the problem do you? I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the ads that was causing the problem. I would have been real disappointed if I had to remove them.
No, your style isn't the problem and I'm sure adsense isn't either. It's got to be some other factor. Care to share your URL?
It says I can't share live links until I reach 10 posts. I think it has to do with the server I am on. I am in contact with the hosting company, but I think they are giving me the runaround. It was really bad around 5:30 pm EST.
>> It says I can't share live links until I reach 10 posts. You can always uncheck the box that says "automatically parse links" while posting and your url will be there, it just won't be a "live" link. Or you can PM it to me .
