Are my ads running?

Discussion in 'Digital Point Ads' started by Gregg Hawkins, Mar 22, 2013.

Not sure if my ads are running. I've made a deposit, the under review has been removed in the 'Your Advertisements' area on the ads I've created--though the ads are still dimmed, but I'm not seeing any impressions/clicks in the reports summary, impression details, or click details section.

Did I set something up wrong here? Or are my ads not showing because I'm bidding too low? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I haven't advertised through DP before and just trying to get familiar with the system.

    Thanks

If it's dimmed, it's disabled... click the "Enable" link on the ad.

    Hey Shawn--two things here:

1.) Any idea what could be causing the discrepancy? I'm showing 35 clicks in my DP advertising summary dashboard starting on the 22nd and nothing showing in Analytics from the 22nd to present day.

    DP Click Summary: http://screencast.com/t/LBxNr4qkM
    Analytics: http://screencast.com/t/cfhiIjhjRiTH

2.) Both of my ads were created checking the 'Banner (CPM)' bubble, however, I've only seen the text version appear on the forums. How can I make it so that my image ads are the only ads that appear when they are served? I'd prefer not to use text ads at all.

Do you have access to your actual web logs? Referrer is rarely going to show because this is an HTTPS site, and a browser will only pass referrer if your site is also HTTPS. See this link for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_referer#Referer_hiding

Maybe double check IPs in your web logs to the IPs it shows as making clicks on this end?

Thanks for the info/education Shawn. I changed my dest. urls to https. We have a secure version of the site as well as non-secure (everything's secure once someone begins the check out process). I'm assuming this will work now.

It should... let me know if you aren't seeing any changes in your logs/analytics... I'd still probably do some spot checks on your web logs regardless (you can find the IP of the user clicking on our side for every individual click).
