I am in love with a Bike ! They are not dangerous at all ! Its upon us that how we handle it - Digital -
I'm a life long rider, and while great fun, your a fool if you get on a motorcycle and you're not scared. Yes they are dangerous, yes they can get you killed or maimed a lot faster than a car will, and remember you will go down at some point or another so plan accordingly. But you'll love every moment you ride.
I live in Thailand, and everyone drink drives here. I have had two accidents now. The first one was braking for a dog, and the last one was 2.5 months ago. Someone tried to rob me at speed and pulled me off the motorbike, it was about 4 am in the morning, I am still suffering. These two guys died the other day near where I live, infact the two guys were known through friends. Warning Graphic Video http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=7ed_1243150860
I LOVE MOTORCYCLES, one of my bikes is my avator. Living is dangerouse so if yoiu like to ride a motorcycle do it. I have only been riding for 20+ years, have crashed 9 times, both on the street and on the track. luckily no major damage to me...some to the bikes. I tend to ride a bit more cautiously then male riders do, but I still love it and will ride my bikes until I am too old to do it. Motorcycles themselves are not dangerouse, it is people who do not pay attention on the road, and people who do not know how to ride that area dangerouse. My bike used to be bright yellow, and being a woman I had to have a matching jacket and helmet, so here I am riding down the street pretty much looking like Big Bird on two wheels, but still car drivers look right through me and pull out in front or me.
I've had a couple of minor mishaps with my old bike... nothing will happen if you are confident and careful. I ride a Yamaha FZ
They are only dangerous if the following happens: You fall off at 80mph You fall off a 100+ foot cliffs onto rocks You get attacked by a rabid camel at speed You are struck by lightning and you are wearing a stainless steel helmet You are trying to attempt a reverse wheelie You freefall your bike with you on it from 28,000 feet Trying to cross the English Channel (not in the tunnel) You fill the tank with nitroglycerine You get up to 200 mph with no brakes and your tyres are made out of railcar steel wheels A satellite falls on you You get attacked by a bunch of drugged out hippie nudists throwing javelins at you
They sure do and that's part of the science of riding is the ability to "predict"...what's your local track btw? I spend quite a bit of time at Willows Springs and Fontana Speedway in Ca lol that was great...hate those pesky javelin throwing hippies! especially when you're doing a big stand up wheelie with one foot off the peg
It is cool but also hard to handle and control I guess. Yes, i mean it is rather tough and violent vehicles IMO. Never will be my thing!
It's not only about what you do. It's about what other motorists do as well and that is what makes it extremely dangerous.
I think sometime it is dangerous ...but it only happens when someone is driving it out of control or in over confidence.
I am much the same way..the most dangerous riding you can do is street riding in the city and on the freeway. Backroad riding is where the longevity is at lol...that was great
