Are Keywords in their Raw Form the Best?

Lets say my best keyword for my site is Physician's Desks. (totally random example)

In my titles, should I use something like this:

Physician Desk | Physician Desks | Physician's Desks

Or simply smething more like this:

Physician's Desks - Affordable Desks for All Physicians.

Or does the term - in its rawest form - (Physician Desk) work the best because it covers Physician Desks, Physician's Desks, etc.

Does listing variations of the same term in the title lessen the potency ? (As in example 1, above)

    Thanks

i would assume that they all could be targeted differently. Find out which keyword gets the most hits and target for that one. In my experience if you dont target for the plural keyword and someone else does, they will have better rankings for that plural term.

Well, assuming that desks, physicians, affordable desks, physicians desks, and so on get the most searches, AND if I was selling affordable physicians' desks, I'd literally use "Affordable Physicians' Desks" as my title text.

Dan -- but what if Physician Desk was also a very popular term?

Woudl you include that in the title or would physician's desks in the title have more power?

To be honest, at that point I'd put the people using the site first, rather than the search engines. "Affordable Physicians' Desks" reads far better than "Affordable Physician Desks" anyway. Besides, it's not like I coudn't just include "physician desk" in the page headings, body copy or anchor text anyway (because I can in fact do just that - which is where I'd do it in this case).

Something I tell people all the time - no matter how well you've optimized your Web site for the search engines, no matter how well you have promoted it, if people cannot access or use the Web site easily, you have failed to do your job. It's really that simple (and yes, even I was guilty of this when I first started out - I used frames back then).

I vote for this "Physician's Desks - Affordable Desks for All Physicians." as your title. It is not necessary to repeat same keywords on your title. The important is, your title can explain enough to the visitors of what is your site is.

Also, it's important that those keywords you're targeting are found in your page content.
