I have been noticing that Google is giving more preference to Title and the body rather than the Meta Keywords I insert. I do a lot of research before inserting the keywords and I see absolutely no traffic from them. Its the Title of the article that provide me the traffic. So is Meta Keyword on its way out? Did you experience anything similar?
google no longer uses meta keyword, this is mainly due to the spamming of this area, and when even my parents have heard of the term meta words (their phrasing not mine) then, it clearly is an old technique. have good content, keyword research is central to your marketing strategy ensuring there is sufficient volume to generate a profit from the traffic, you need all the right seo element s on the page and make sure the content is unique. if your content is lousy then google will not pay any attention to you
It's not dead yet because search engines crawler have sequence in searches. like Title ---> Meta tags ----> meta keywords ---> contents. But without meta tags and meta keyword it will skip directly to Title and Content that's all. Relevancy is more important and of course the most important is the purpose of the article because in the end of the day Google can identify what is the article for based on searches and keywords used on search engines. And using the result it will be placed at the appropriate rank because people are searching for it very often
Absolutely! General Keywords list doesn't work that much however keywords variation with respect to specific page title and content can give edge over rankings
Google never take meta keywords and meta description into the algorithm. But Bing and Yahoo take metas into consideration though, so it's not hurt to do a good metas.
