Are image ads better than text ads - Earning wise???

I am using adsense(text ads) from past 1 year on my 4-5 website. I have never tried Image ads on my websites...

Few days ago I received an email regarding adsense, which suggested me that I should use Image ads rather than text ads to increase my earning..

CAN anyone explain me:

HOW CAN IMAGE ADS INCREASE THE EARNING????

 

For the most people the text ads are working better that image ads.

Please don't use big red text in your post It looks bad.

 

Although there is no evidence to suggest and confirm that image ads actually pay more than text ads, this is just based on the assumption that image ads attract more people's attention to click the ads. However, there has been numerous reports and findings that suggest otherwise to say that image ads actually pay even less. But then again, there is no "one to one" comparison that can make the statement conclusive.

 

I use image adverts, they look neater for me.

 

I never use ads image.. I am afraid some crappy image will make my site look ugly..

 

I think the theory is that image ads almost always are some kind of short video (they always seem to have stuff moving around on them, I know it's gif not a video). That movement attracts attention and people end up clicking more often than the text ads.

I doubt this is actually true though, in my experience my text ads are clicked more often.

 

Image ads pay less. That's a fact. They do look nicer in my opinion so that's why I still run them.

 

I agree. In my opinion having the image ads on the site give it a feel of importance. Like someone must think advertising on this site is worthwhile so here's my image ad. So in a way the image ads are almost part of the content for me. I run both image and text ads, I make more on text than image ads.

 

image ads pay way less with lower CTR from experience

 

I've had more luck with text ads compared to image ads even if the image ads sometimes look better, but alot of the time they look worse

 

text ads pay more,blend better.so in the end text is better IMO

 

If you are working with very good niche site.. I recommend you to use text ads.. and if you run forums,etc with low CPC.. than try Image ads. I personally put 2 text ads and and image ad on my sites.

 

Image ads will not generate as much revenue as test ads .

About the red font I agree . I looks like one is spamming

In my opinion, I feel that there is no hard and fast rule on which is more useful. Both are equally useful. It depends on how you use them and place them.

 

According to me, text ads performs better compared to image ads. To earn maximum revenue with text ads, you need to place text ads on prominent positions on your website

 

I was alsways under the assumption that image ads would pay more - especially since they take up the space of 2+ text ads. But I read a few articles stating that this was not the case... Will try and dig them up now!
