Yes I know that high quality link in the same industry are good for a site
However, if the industry is in sexual products and most people won’t trade links with these sites and the ones that do are the ones viewed unfavorable by search engines wouldn’t the best link strategy be to get as many links as you can, instead of quality links, since these sites are basically the bottom on the barrel

Now any normal site that trades links with these sites would be dinged, however, if this is your industry I think the number of links is best strategy no matter where you put your link since you cannot be dinged since the industry is the worst to trade links with

So would the sheer number of links help these sites as opposed to quality links since there is no way to get quality links?

Can’t be dinged further and no way to measure rankings with this industry since it is the bottom but there has to be a way to measure rankings in this industry so I think number of links would apply to this industry

    Thoughts?

How about the competing sites? If they also have only cheap links, you can do that.
