Some times when I search for a term in Google it shows different results in different browsers i.e. the positional rank of the results varies in different browsers. does it mean Google results are Browser specific???
mchrest's right, and different para. can lead to different results, you could not always see the same results.
All of the above - and - each browser is setting cookies and personalising your search - http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/personalized-search-for-everyone.html
Results are geo trageted not browser specific. But you might see slightly different results in different browsers.
it means that you are logged in on one browser and not the other one, or you spent more time on google on one that the other so more "history cookies" in your google account, google will show sites you visit most with higer ranking if you have "web history enabled" or you are connected to your account. You should delete cookies and temp files on all browsers, disconnect from accout and retry.. should give you same results, also, check that you do not have proxy setup on one of your browsers, that could alter SERP dramatically.
I read this thread and cam to conclusion that Google SERP results vary depending upon browsing history and cookies but isn't there any tool other than Google webmaster tool through which we can check exact and actual Google SERP position for my website.
