Are Free Directories Still Worth Submitting To

    Well that's true because the PR is divided on the number of outgoing links from that website/directory and therefore you will not get almost any benefit from a free directory submission on directories with few thousand listings even if the directory is pr 5-6 The best way is to buy "reviewed" listings where the directory has at most few hundred links and has pr 5-6-7 this will be much more beneficial than submitting to 5000 directories with tons of links.

    Yes free directories are still important though it may have any pagerank. But you should submit in only free directories not paid one.

    Remember only free directories never paid them, if they are asking for payment then simply click the small "X" at the top left.

    Free directories are still one of the major source of website promotion. Some of these may become the quality and paid directories and could be the great source for your backlink.

    Yeah, they still worth it, the new free directories can become a good quality one later on, so its advised to keep submitting to them

    I have a friend who's site has very little back links to directories, and his site is a PR3. No paid links to high PR directories. The highest back link he has is a PR3 and all of the links are similar in subject matter. Sometimes I think the PR system is a bit confusing perhaps Google made it that way so it would be harder to try and cheat the system...lol
