In peoples opinion is it worth the time (and money for paid directories) to add links to a new site? What sort of effect will these kind of back links have on a new website being promoted?
Paid directories may effect for some instant but as soon as it is under notice of Google your site may be ban ..so manual submission is time consuming but it is more effective
sorry I wasn't clear..... I didn't mean should I use companies that will submit for me I meant are directories that you have to pay for worth it i.e. yell.com, city-advisor etc etc.
Hi there, Yes manually submission is very useful for SEO purpose, but you should concentrate on do follow directories, because they have the real link juice.
Make sure you're not just submitting to bland directories; search engines also judge on relevant content (I.E. a plumbing website will benefit from a link on a plumbing forum/directory compared to just any normal directory/forum).
Submitting to directories is a good strategy but I suggest do not go into getting a service from massive directory submitters. The more natural the better. Yes they are correct, submit to directories that are high ranking and do-follow only.
Directory submission is still effective though you have to wait long in order to get results. It usually takes two to three months before the administrator approves your URL.
I'd only pay for a DMOZ or Yahoo Directory listing. They're priceless. ("For everything else, there's American Express...")
Submitting to many directories, especially ones with high pr, is definitely worth it, Ive seen results.
manual Directory submission is very helpful for creating backlinks. Do some Quality & fast approve directory submission it is very helpful for your site.
There is lot of directories in the net most of them are pr0 or banned. If you go for submit in these types of directories, definitely it would be waste of time.
I think google and others can... I'm mean the bots can read what the site is about and so they can see the words that are asking for money to post links and maybe you can get away with it for a good while, but eventually they will catch up with the site you are doing business with and punish them and the sites like yours doing business with them. That's how you get caught or someone sends a complaint that the site is offering paid links and that is against the rules. So they won't see you paying for it, but there are sales text that offer the paid links and they are getting better at finding them all the time. Maybe these sites could do it more covert and no where on the site it says you have to pay? They could do it where one site is the dealing site and they link on other sites, but no where it can say what sites those are. Ong
lately i dont see much improvement with directory submission, i guess it better to find high quality links.
I must agree that the best result gives manual directory submission, but it also true that it's time consuming. What do you think about tools for semiautomatic positioning? You adding directories much faster but you keep all those good thing like manual submission. We're selling the tool called SemiAdder in Poland. I must admit it's quite popular. Nowadays we almost finish the English version, so if there's anyone interested in I can give some for free.
