Gotta be careful, I thought the same thing and bought a couple... one of them ended up being banned in G.

hmm .. it depends .. some domains does have a PR before they are deleted. Thus, obtaining these domains are good, particularly the higher probability that you can skip the sandbox filter.

However, it depends on how old are the domains, and did it get spidered in the past.

It would be useless if you are getting a deleted old domain which has not been spidered or develeped in the past. That makes no difference with a new domain.

You can see if the domain has been spidered or had any content in the past by using
    http://www.archive.org

It will give you a clue :D

Always do a site:domain search to see if the domain is banned in G before you buy a old domain. :)

When I control the expired domains first I control its backlinks values on UptimeBot and after that I control old contents about it through Archive.org

It’s definitely worth it, since deleted or expired domains have existing links and it’s likely that they’re already entered into search engines. I’d advise you to have a look at www.domainannounce.com:eek:

Well I have some experience here, and I'll share it with you.

I learned that there's a lot of research to be done before backordering a domain, and even if it expired already.

You could end up with a banned domain. In most cases I believe you can get it indexed again if you contact Google and they're happy with the new site.
But then it better be a good domain, with keywords, catchy, short or anything that's really important about the domain name itself, not the previous website, as that will be zeroed.

But I did have luck in some cases buying expired domains with some incoming links, so I have bad and good stories also.

Back to beginning, do some research, try and work out the previous life of the domain and make a decision from there...

Wow, maybe in a more complicated way, but I said exactly what Shoemoney said!

Please let me be proud of myself, because maybe I'm starting to make sense!

You can also pick up traffic from expired domains which can be fruitful, again down to a lot of research.

Hmm.. I guess I was lucky with the domain of the first site in my signature... I ordered it about 6-10 days after it expired... but I didn't know at that time. I've learned a lot since I've joined DP :)

if a domain is a PR4, deleted domain, but it is still in the google index, how much would it sell?
