Probably the most popular and most profitable classified site is craigslist.com The rest of the classified sites are probably struggling to make money or close down after some time. Am I mistaken or are there other classified sites that make money? Any one who has a classified site care to share?
I think Kijji (not sure of the spelling) is still pretty popular, and I hear USFreeads mentioned a lot. I think one of the reasons Craigslist is still so popular is that it's primarily a local classifieds site (broken down by city). So rather than Ebay, their competion is more likely the local newpaper classifieds section in that particular town. It appeals to people who might prefer to travel across town and purchase a used laptop in person and have it the same day, rather than order it on Ebay and wait for it to be shipped to them.
