I am thinking of buying some PREMIUM .cc and .ws domain names ( one word domains ) whose .com , .net competitors are being sold for xx,xxx $ Whats your take on this ? Should i go ahead with buying them ?
I have photographer.ws which I consider to be premium. Google results =72,700,000 for photographer and an estimated monthly search volume of 1,309,760! There is no way I'm going to part with this baby until the right offer comes along! It really has no bearing what the extension is. If you have a good site and the SEO is done properly you can get onto the first couple of pages in the main search engines and you are going to get lot's of visitor's, regardless of the extension. People are searching for stuff to do with the keyword...not the extension.
I wouldn't waste my money on .ws as it's a very week extention & don't see it going anywhere. .cc is a possibility, but only with very premium names. There are still many good keywords available, but not worth the reg fee at this stage
Eventhough .ws may not seem nice to some of us, I've seen many .ws sites with good quality contents.... But Go for .com or .net if you can
For investment they are worthless. COM is and will be the only thing, but if there is a name you have to have then I am all for the other tlds. ITs only people who think the strange tlds will be worth something who are the ones who would buy them from you at a premium. If your gonna use the site go for it.
I think they are worthless from an investment point of view. But they can be good if you want to be listed on the first pages in google for the keyword you buy. I own a few .cc domains myself and most of them is among the first pages when searching for the term..
I have not had any problem with getting my .cc domains indexed by G And their are placed nice in first search page when searching for the term, so for good keywords I think their are worth it..
