I am thinking of buying some car magnets to advertise my website. Has anyone else used this method? They are fairly inexpensive, about $40.00 for two magnets that you can place on either side of your car.
i did try this a few years back and i had good success with it. you can also try bumper stickers, or bumper magnets. they do work and if you get the smaller magnets with just a url, you can get your friends and family to put em on their cars as well. thus helping even more. you can also go with decals from decalkits.com i have used them as well and the decals are great and cheaper. you can get a ton of bumper style decals for the cost of the magnets
I would also check with many other manufacturers to see if you could get a better price because 2 for $40 sounds pretty expensive.
On a normal car/truck/SUV, the best spot is across your back window. The sides get blocked from view in parking spaces, whereas the back is always visible. While driving, people get to stare at the back of your vehicle for a much longer time than at the side, giving them a longer time to memorize your URL. Also, the rear window is a lot closer to eye level, so it's more likely to be noticed than a bumper sticker.
One of my clients was a restaurant owner, and on the delivery cars they put large stickers of the phone, restaurant name and URL. This worked really well for the business! While it worked for the business, the site didn't have much increased traffic.
Just make a sticker than says, "Report my driving to www.enterurlhere.com," put it on your bumper, and then drive like a maniac. You'll get all sorts of traffic, and you get to drive like a maniac.
yes this is what i did i have a z71 pickup and i put it on the tail gate and the sides of the doors, and it worked really good, i would look back and see people writing down the sites url i would also see people getting closer to me just to read it.
I just got 25 bumper stickers for friends and family, I figured it certainly couldn't hurt anything especially if you are targetting your local market. They are very cost effective, I think it was about $2.25/each from a local supply and they are suppose to last atleast 1 year. I guess it depends on what you are advertising.
good find, i have found in the past they will last much longer than 1 year if they are made with that poly plastic type of material
