are bulk email campaigns illegal ?

dscurlock wrote about big spammers never going to jail - of course not ! That's not a criminal code, that's a civil code according to which they are being penalised.

In regard of to the thread question - you can ONLY bulk mail people if they gave you permission (the ONLY case of the permission is subscribing to your mailing-list).

Emails sent must also include your postal address.

 

I never go to web sites on spam email. Now a days people know what spam is and don't generally trust them.

 

Depending on what niche and what your website content is, email marketing can work very well...
