Are Blogger blogs worth it, or Not?

I know wordpress is a popular blogger platform these days, but have many of you got good blogger blogs which are Search engine optimized, and bringing you good daily traffic?

I have an old blogger one, which is still getting moderate traffic, but it is on blogger, and i have heard that blogger blogs aint worth it. Is that just a rumour?

That blog has good content on too, so just wondering if any of you blogger people have a successful blogger blog which is stil bringing you good traffic/sales/profits.

What are the disadvantages of blogger blogs (i know wordpress allows you to have many types of widgets installed)

Your views would be appreciated, thanks.....

Wordpress is popular as well as SE friendly too... but if your blog posts are not eye catching and upto users interest in your niche.. then it can not help you in getting good daily traffic..

You can transfer you current blogger blog to worpress too... just look for option of export and import on wordpress control panel.. :)

Not sure about others, but I generally DO NOT link to blogs with a blogspot.com (or wordpress.com or typepad.com) extension. If you're serious with your blog (or your online business), why save $100 annually for an independent domain and a shared hosting?

Everything is worth it if you work hard on it, so its doesnt really matter whether its wordpress or blogger. However with self hosted blogs you get complete independence.

In my opinion, WP is much easier to optimize and is more user friendly. Also, considering it is very easy to use on your own domain I don't see why anyone would use blogger.

Maybe the article here will interest you and help to answer your question. It provides reason on why you shouldn't use blogspot after all.

If you write quality content, it doesn't matter it is a blogger blog or a wordpress blog, You always get backlinks. One of my blogger blogs has Techrorati authority 900+ with tons of backlinks.

I would suggest for you to use blogger! Its free hosting so the only expense it your time, rather than wordpress you have to get your own host and install it on your servere. Also there are so many great high quality free templates for blogger that can get your site up and running in minutes!

For all the time and energy needed, it would be better to build a real site under a .COM. The work is the same.

I am using blogger and its giving me traffic and some earnings as well. I think you just need to know how to monetized your blogger blogs at the same time it is easier to be chached by google .

If you are serious about a great blog then obviously blogger or any other blog where you will have a subdomain is not a great idea. yourblog.com will always be more powerful than yourblog.blogger.com or what have you.

As for the platform itself wordpress is obviously the better option of the two.

cashisfilthitakecheck is absolutely correct. It is also a lot easier to get backlinks if you have your own domain. Many directories won't let you submit subdomains etc...

Its not Blogger or wordpress or typepad decides a PR of a domain. Its backlinks which lets a domain or sub-domain to perform well

I use Blogger blogs extensively for niche marketing blogs. They're quick and easy to setup and are free and reliable.

For a flagship blog I do recommend going with self-hosted WordPress though.
