Black hat technique is not good for SEO. With my personal experience I feel that search engines like Google, are giving a lot of weight-age to websites that serve good and ethical content and are built keeping the visitors interest in mind.

Black hat SEO techniques are used to get high rank and better traffic for their sites. But if it is caught by the search engine.then,it could be a possibility of reducing their pageranking, eliminate from the listing of their database and some type of penalties can be applied manually or automatically by the search engines.

Black hat is about generating a site, using dirty tricks to get it ranking FAST and letting it die whenever the time comes. Penalties are easy enough to get around, but sometimes you'll get a manual review and get deindexed. Doesn't matter.

In a word: YES. Most blackhat methods don't involve building trust and credibility. Cloaking, fake accounts, etc etc.

There's no need to go that route, get SE's to love you the only true and reliable way--focus on QUALITY CONTENT. Give your site's visitors the value they came for in the first place.

There are few Web master who use black hat SEO techniques for improving traffic, ranking or there website exposure .There could be some attempts to improve rankings in way they need to but are disapproved by the search engines or can penalize that websites . There could be a directly punish as well if the website is been caught when search engine check if you are using black hat methods, there could be a possibility of reducing their PR rankings or can also eliminate their listings from their search databases altogether as well. Such type of penalties can be applied manually or automatically by the search engines

Black hat methods are punishable--- if you're caught. Treat it like breaking the law and do it at your own risk.
