Well my website is DesignPlanet.biz and seems to get good traffic but some odd reason its been open since october, and still no PR, Had a 5 RK (Real PAgeRank) for a few months then dropped to an "unkown" RK. I had begun to think about switching to a .com, since i always heard from some people .biz is bad, and not good enuf etc. That people would remember .coms better, and stuff like that. But i was never sure. What is your experience with other TLDs, and how does it affect you? Anyone have multiple sites for a good comparison? Are .cc, .info, .biz, .us sites considered secondary by search engines or others compared to .coms??? Any input? So far, I don't think i was ever treated unfairly by search engines, except Yahoo, who never even indexes me. I rank quite well in Google. No PR. And my traffic is low but that may be due to the layout or something, although my content is quite useful and informative. It also may be due to my site being new. However, I feel like I should switch to a .com now, while my site is young. Any advise??? or comments about my earlier questions?
I think google gives priority to region specific extensions for that region. I my case, I get decent traffic for my site with ".in" extension when somebody searches using the radio button checked for my region on google home page i.e. "pages from India".
Yeah I get a lot of hits from google.com.tr, .in .fr .co.uk .de .everything but usually its when they press "all pages" not their own country. I mean that i know. But .biz .com .net and .info and .cc are all non-country-specific. So what do they have an effect on each other???
The domain extension has no effect on your rankings whatsoever unless you want to rank in the UK for example where a .co.uk will have an advantage.
