Are Banner Ad's worth it? My Competitor is offering $7 CPM

Two of my competitors offer banner ad's for $7 CPM (I believe per 1000 clicks), this seems very low to me, but perhaps someone can shed some light on this.

Is this a worthwhile marketing idea? They cater to the exact same target audience.

    Thank you.

Banner still work. There are visible on mobile devices which is why people still invest in them as oppose to video ads. just a thought.

My opinion on Price would depend on how many people they get per month.

They are receiving between 500,000 and 1 million hits each per month.

try a "sticky" in a forum, often they can be more profitable than the banners, but suzybakeoven said, banners still work.

At $7 per CPM, the price is low enough to try it out for yourself. Even if it completely flops, you'll be out $7.

A quick run to the local drive-through will set you back more than that.

Give it a shot and let us know if it worked out.

    What is the market?

If your banner is in highly visible position then yes, it is good.,.. but if not, you are just wasting money...

banner is one of the worst advertising methods now.

i dont think $7 cpm is worth to gain some profit from it... and as per my personal belief now a days banner advertising is not worth to get a huge amount of traffic. its my personal view. :)

I believe they would be selling 1000 impressions for $7 and not 1000 clicks - unless it's a paid to click or paid to surf site .... or an adult plug.
