Are Banner Ads Worth It for an Ad Sense Type Site?

I want about 10 or 20 dollars daily from my Indeed dot com (similar to Adsense) So can I get this traffic thru banner ads? How much traffic should the site (where I place my banner ad) get to make it effective for my site?

All I want people to do is come on the site, type in some job and click search.

I'm trying to get search engine traffic but that will take some time.

Why don't you have a backlink to your site on your post or as a signature? That might help too. I am new to having a website too and I haven't had time to really get involved yet, but I hear backlinking and staying visible in forums related to your site will make all the difference while your site is not searchable.

Get a banners ads on your niche. If your looking for Job Seeker visitors then you must put your banner ads on related site. About the traffic, you can use alexa rank for basis so you will have idea on the traffic of that website. (something like below 100,000)

Banners do work better than text links on certain sites (usually video sites & flash gaming sites). The best place to put them is near the upper left/center or top of the screen.

If there's not high traffic on your website, banner ads will make little sense. Therefore, try to improve the traffic
of your website.Maybe you can purchase some backlinks if you can afford it.It's an efficient way to improve the
    flows.

You need a combination of methods - article marketing (if appropriate), strong SEO, backlinks etc - banners on their own won't do it. There has been research that indicates that people are more inclined to click on a banner (preferably 300 x 250) if it's positioned at the end of a relevant blog post...could you set up a complementary blog or guest blog elsewhere in a relevant niche?

Buy banner ad in related niche topic forum. Or if text link, try to use MSN / Bing PPC or YPN.
Banner position shall be at the middle of the webpage

    Just my opinion. Thanks
