I submitted several articles via a submission service on DP, however I have started checking the backlinks and they have dropped dramatically, is this normal?

In september I had 315 backlinks for 1 article, today I have only 74...I am searching on Google using the Title in speach marks.

    Hello,

I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it makes sense. You (or whomever you paid) submitted the same article allover the place, google indexed those pages, and then at a second glance, google might have realized that those were duplicate content, and dropped some of them from the index.

Another reason might be the article directories themselves. I've seen some article directories just vanish (one day I was submitting an article, the next day, the directory was gone: domain expired, hosting expired, etc).

Sounds like you have suffered from the Google duplicate content penalty, better to get a spinner adn make each article at least 30% unique
