Are backlinks from RSS feeds as good as directory backlinks?

For example, if I had 1000 backlinks from different RSS feed directories, would this be just as effective as having 1000 backlinks from different link directories?

Assuming the links are dofollow, there shouldn't be too big of a difference.

I also want to know this because as it seems google doesn't index rss feeds and sitemaps.

Hmmmm......I don't know about that one. Whenever I would submit my rss feeds from my blogs I would always get tons of backlinks. I'm wondering whether that helps out your SEO or not.
