Are backlinks from forums still worthy?

Some may agree and some may not, but as per my understanding and experience!
forum signature links only generate traffic and not worth as SEO... maybe???

I agree with Nigel for the most part. There are many reasons to use Forum posting, SEO not being one. The backlinks people receive from forums, although they may appear in many backlink checking tools, likely aren't holding weight when it comes to ranking one business higher than another.

Forums are useful for driving some traffic, unfortunately however, as mentioned above, many of these forums are filled with huge misconceptions and scams.

 

I don't see the point mentioning pagerank on this. How good are you ranking for your keywords? That is what matters.

 

We all know the value of links. At least I hope we all do. Among other things they are the main component of Google Page Rank formula, which is one of 200+ factors Google considers when calculating SERPs. When determining PR, Google looks at how many links point to that page and how important those pages are (their PR). So forum signature links are a good source of link, although not from very high PR pages.

Dear member would you please clarify your concern about so much weight. As it has been proved that " best way to index your pages", "count as back links in Google" and " provide organic traffic to your site". In my opinion I think they are doing well, if we concern that. Search engine traffic and keyword visibility in SERP both the things are covered by this attempt. Tell more what you think and give proved reasons also. It would surely help the members.

 

I use Forum Marketing as one of my Bread and butter traffic generating techniques. I actively post on 6 different forums within my niche every day until I get my post count up to 400. This has to be done without spamming. once at 400 I only post once every few days or when I have something to say.
I then find another forum and start again there.
I usually have 6 running at one time. I find that those forums that have a DoFollow aspect Backlink very fast (to be expected) The one thing I did notice that even on NoFollow forums. They will have a DoFollw aspect for topics so you can if targeted well end up with a thread showing on page one for your keyword.

 

Ya forum signature is the best for backlinks and its a very useful keyword ranking. When some keyword is very stuff to come in ranking that time you give link to that keyword so that keyword come fast in ranking and also its useful for pr and site indexing.

 

Search engines like Google knows that forums are user edited. So anyone can just put a link without any effort. How is possible you are still believing that Google gives weight to a link on a forum? Use common sense. In the past, forum links have helped me to archive my rankings but not in the way all think. Posting senseless links without leading the forum readers to click on them is a waste of time. The best way to get links from forums is by posting anything relevant so users may find useful your link and consequently put it back in their websites.
That is how we can get back links from forums.

 

Forum Signatures are very useful for SEO purposes. Forum posting is the best way for crawling and generating more back links for our site.

 

IMO, forum signatures definitely have an impact in my site, especially if you're posting on a "do follow" forum site and you are actively participating.

And how it be proved the weightage point of Google algo or the parameters of it. Nothing is perfect to get your goal so how can you depand on just one thing. Here is the big mistake made by "new SEOs" they go after Google algorithm instead of going after Google main purpose. I have seen many forums full-filled with senseless link signatures using a keyword in the anchor text. So these guys believe that just because they placed a "loan consolidation" link in a cooking forum they will rank for loan consolidation, and not taking into account that link carries no value either for the host forum nor the readers of that forum. They are just doing it because they have told that the keyword must be on the anchor text as is. Here is the thing, a link must be seen naturally. A link capable of attracting visitors.
These guys are after a ranking algorithm.


What is Google main purpose?

A: To show the most relevant results. So if your site deserves to be on top 10 for a keyword it must be relevant and worthy of being there.

 

No one are behind the ranking algorithm, actually no one hv seen the perfection of that or existence of that. But as the major factors declared by the Google to rank better or as the main purpose you are telling, All the things should be kept in mind, why should leave even a single hole to wipe out. As you are taking to work apart from the right track is senseless, I am agree, coz that couldn't create interest for the cooking forum members in any loan consolidation. When while workin on the theme base, It's advised not to leave even a single leak for anybody.

 

So I assume you guys are after your visitors.

 

Yes everything is intentionally performed for the visitors but the bunch of all the efforts is just not following them but move them towards your site. and this one is just one smart way to move on. So it's always matter. The happenings depends on what you are getting, if good then positive and if none or less then negative.

 

Same question arise in my mind....

In my experience forum is very helpful to increase serp and pr. That's what I have observe in my part.
