Are Backlinks From Facebook Worthwhile?

Facebook has an area under the Info tab where users can place a link to a website. Does this link carry any PR, authority, link juice, etc?

Basically, are these links worthwhile in obtaining, not for the traffic so much as for the link juice?

 

Dont think too much about backlinks whether it is worth it or not, just get them, it might be of lesser or higher value, but believe in the principle "backlink is a backlink"

 

If the page contains some Page Rank, then it will probably have some SEO use.

 

I hear Google likes to see social network links so I'd say anything they like is a good thing to show them.

 

Not sure if facebook links are dofollow and its very tough to get PR in your profile /link. though its very easy to get high PR in your twitter profile.

I would recommend to place link on Facebook for traffics and being referred purpose but not seo. It would not give much as you may expected in both PR and Authority / Link power.

Thanks for the video.... basically if they have PR they would be nice to have. I will stick to fan pages beacuse they are public. Imagine to have link from lady gagas fan page.. now that should have nice PR.

I would say they are worthwhile having, although they don't provide much in the way of link juice, I believe they do still carry some, regardless of what others say. I've seen tests as to whether nofollow links can increase rankings for chosen keywords, and I've seen the results. They can also provide some good traffic so go for it I say.

 

I'd say yes, they are worthwhile, especially if they only take a couple minutes to implement.

 

my FB profile PR is 3 "http://www.facebook.com/siddharth.haritash". If I get back link from my profile then it will very beneficial for me.

 

I don't think social networking will give high value to your links but it can give targeted traffic.

 

I thik it's not worthwhile it give you some quality traffic only traffic not link juice etc...

 

SMO is always generate good traffic but it can not generate good backlinks.....

 

Facebook is a nofollow community site. So, you cannot get get any backlinks from this site. Though if handled properly, you can get a good traffic from Facebook. You cannot get any link juice from Facebook but only traffic.
